The Alton Public School System is giving out free breakfast/lunch combo meals free for any child in the district beginning Tuesday March 17 from 8:00am to 12 pm throughout the closure. Drive up and roll down your window to receive a meal. Pick up locations are Alton High by the front entrance, Alton Middle School in front of the Main, East Elementary, North Elementary and West Elementary. Meals are provided by Aramark.
East Alton-Wood River School districts will be providing a grab and go breakfast and lunch outside of the library every school day between 9am and 11am for anyone 18 or younger
Ameren IL has stopped all electric shut offs due to non-payment
Illinois American Water has stopped all water shut offs due to non-payments
If you run out of infant formula and none is available at the store Enfamil and GoodStart (and probably other companies) will send you a free case if you call the number on the can
Parents who have childcare funded through CCAP (some refer to it as CHASI) all parent co-pays are being dropped to $1 for the months of April and May
Sammi’s Sandwiches, located at Norb’s Tavern in uptown Alton will be distributing free lunches to children. A ham or turkey sandwich, bag of chips, a fruit cup and a bottle of water, you must have the child with you to receive the lunch. All meals are being distributed curbside.
222 Artisan Bakery in Edwardsville is giving a free Baked Oatmeal breakfast for any child starting M-F from 6am to 12pmparents are allowed to come in and make the pick up even if the child is not present. This will continue until schools start back up.
Duke Bakery in Alton will be distributing a donut a pint of milk to any child under 18 from 7-11 am every day until school resumes.
Spectrum is providing free internet to any child without access so that they can participate in online remote learning call 1-844-488-8398

Uhaul is providing 30 days free storage for college students that have to move out
Enterprise is waiving it’s young driver fee and reducing the minimum age to rent a car from 21 to 18 for college students who need transportation home
The State of Illinois will provide Unemployment Benefits to anyone whose job shuts down due to COVID-19 and the “seeking work” clause will be considered fulfilled if the employee is ready and able to resume work as soon as the company reopens. In other words, they will not be required to try and go find another job.
